A student project adopted nationwide by tobacco shop owners in France
It was during the 2022 National Congress of the Confederation of Tobacco Shop Owners that this ethical action plan was announced, marking the introduction of the BOB label among tobacco shop owners, conceived by students from Digital College.
During the 2021/2022 school year, the Confederation of Tobacco Shop Owners, a representative professional organization speaking on behalf of 24,000 merchants nationwide, entrusted students in the Ms2 Start-up Management and E-commerce program with a significant challenge: to propose an ethical communication strategy aimed at reminding tobacco shop owners of their commitments regarding the prohibition of selling to minors and thereby helping to enforce the law.
After pitching their projects to the Confederation’s elected officials at their headquarters, the winning group of students was awarded a prize: an all-expenses-paid weekend in Europe for all its members. However, the most significant reward for this work was not just that, as the Confederation decided to adopt the ideas proposed by these Digital College students nationwide.

It was during the 2022 National Congress of the Confederation of Tobacco Shop Owners, where Gabriel Attal, Minister Delegate for Public Accounts, also intervened, that this ethical action plan was announced, along with the introduction of the BOB label among tobacco shop owners: “Buraliste Officiellement Bienveillant” (Officially Benevolent Tobacco Shop Owner).
3 tools were developed to implement the project :
- An ethical e-learning platform, consisting of 8 video capsules
- A questionnaire leading to certification
- A communication kit
