Kick-off 2021: Back to the Match! An NBA-style start to the school year for Digital College
This Wednesday, October 6, we invited our students to our back-to-school event: the inevitable Kick-Off. This is one of the most anticipated highlights for students. This year again, the entertainment was real. The students discovered the Digital College spirit at an NBA-style back-to-school event.
Nearly 1500 students gathered at the Halle Carpentier
The Kick-Off 2021 took place in the mythical hall occupied by our partner Paris Basketball. The students were welcomed with music, dances, and basketball shows like true NBA stars! An American-style atmosphere awaited them, a first for the school.
As Director & CEO of Digital College, Ridouan Abagri took the floor to welcome the students and remind them of the identity of our school, its history, its evolution, and our expectations for the students. “Become the only stakeholder of your life” is the credo of our institution.
An opportunity for students to meet experts in the field
Two professionals from the digital sector were also present: Nicolas Brien – Chairman at EuraTechnologies, a cluster of excellence and innovation dedicated to the digital field, and former CEO of France Digitale, France’s leading start-up organization – and Emmanuel Durand, Chairman, and CEO 2016-2021 of Snapchat Inc. France. An opportunity for students to share professional experiences with two industry experts at the beginning of the school year and to receive critical advice for their future.
Announcements, surprises, and back to international student life
The Kick-Off is also the time to announce the upcoming year’s news, new projects, and trips to our students.
The year 2022 will be marked by the launch of new campuses in France and abroad and the resumption, to the delight of students, of learning expeditions to dream destinations such as Seoul, Mexico City, Miami, Las Vegas, and Dubai, with programs still focused on discovering the international sector.
With over 1200 subscribers on our Twitch channel, we announced the creation of 7 new show concepts. Between debates, interviews, Asian culture, gaming, and a show 100% made by students, we continue to grow on this platform to bring entertainment and information to the Digital College community.
An unexpected finale that will have marked the students for this new school year
To end the event on an impactful note, we invited one of France’s most famous RAP celebrities: NISKA. The renowned rapper treated students to a private showcase, one of the artist’s first returns to the stage since the health crisis.
